Gabby's Seed Story- Grace Slone

Overall, this project had many ups and downs for Gabby and her group. I had the privilege to interview Gabby and get to know all about her experience in this project. Gabby learned that plants need certain things to survive, and that they are able to thrive and grow better in different environments. One thing that surprised her was how many different aspects there are in the topic of biology alone. Her group was a very entertaining group and was able to brighten her up each and every day. One moment that Gabby was slowed down and had to think a bit deeper was when she was examining cells, and learning about the various parts of cells. Gabby described her plant's growth as that the leaves grew very large and her plant grew taller and wider than most of the other plants.

Over many months of observing and monitoring the growth of our Brassica oleracea plant, there are many things that have become known. However, Brassica oleracea has not stayed the same for all of its existence on earth. It has changed, adapted, and gone through a process called natural selection in order to form new variations of the same species. The part of the plant that I decided to observe were the leaves of the plant. I noticed that the leaves in the various plants had a range in width from 1.5 cm to 16 cm. I also noticed that the leaves in the plants had a range in length from 6 cm to 24 cm. These two facts prove that compared to other parts of the plant, the leaves have the greatest variation and depend mostly on what type of Brassica oleracea plant it is. Seed Germination Lab Report

Abstract: The purpose of this lab was to try and see how liquid chlorophyll affects seed germination, and whether water, chlorophyll, or a mixture of both would create a larger sprout. This is significant because in a plant, chlorophyll helps produce the food, so by supplying it for the plant, we wanted to know if it would affect the growth. As a result of this seed germination lab, added chlorophyll did not affect the growth of the seeds at all, leaving the only plant with 10 ml of water to grow up to 4cm tall. The rest of this report will share our results, data, and intentions put into this project. Introduction: In our experiment, we started out with our question, can liquid chlorophyll increase plant growth? After that, we researched the chlorophyll online, and we bought 16 fl oz of chlorofresh at Sprouts.  We went on to make our hypothesis, if chlorophyll is vital in photosynthesis, then added chlorophyll would reduce the amount of time the plant needed to grow.
